Good news !!
To help you plan for the future we have decided to set up a system for pre-registration. This will allow you to book you bib without paying the registration fee and is non-committal.
We are confident as to staging the UTAT 2020. The dates, October 1st to 5th, is an asset for us however there are still many unknown parameters to this date.
For the event to be held, there are three requirements:
- The Moroccan and European governments gives authorisation for gatherings and the freedom of movement is authorized again
- The air traffic between Europe and Morocco is back to more or less normal
- At least 500 runners are registered by July the 31st (Article 20 of the UTAT rules)
in the absence of further Moroccan or European governmental directives, we have decided to make the final decision regarding this year edition gives itself up by July 31st.
The prerequisites attached to governmental authorisations
✔ Opening of the borders between Morocco and Europe
✔ Public gathering allowed in Morocco
✔ Clearance of all regular authorisation specific to the UTAT organisation
In order to hold the event, it is necessary that by July 31st, the Moroccan and European governments have issued clear indications regarding the conditions that will prevail on September 30.
How Morocco has managed the health crisis
Morocco quickly declared a rigorous quarantine; the measures are very well respected. Measures are mostly similar to those in Francethough stricter.
Masks are widely available and are mandatory since April 7.
All medical staff are conscripted 24/7, and accomodated in hotels close to their hospitals.
The state of health emergency is extended until May 20, 2020.
Morocco has been taken as an example by several foreign daily newspapers.
The measures taken seem to be efficient: By April 21, Morocco appeared below the 50th slot in the list of countries struck by the COVID-19. The highest number of declared cases in one day was less than 300; the number of deaths is less than 200.
Registration to this date
At the beginning of the crisis in Europe (end of February), 175 runners had registered for UTAT. this is more than we had for the last editions at the same date.
Obviously there have been no new registrations since and this situation is likely to continue as long as the level of uncertainty remains high.
Pre-registrations
This lack of visibility in these matters makes planning ans organisation difficult. Therefore, as of April 25, new registrations are no longer possible and are replaced by a pre-registration formula. Here are the details:
- A Pre-registration does not require any payment, nor any kind of financial or other obligation.
- A Pre-registration guarantees your participation / bib number within the limit of available slots.
- April 25: Pre-registration opens
- July 31: End of pre-registration
- August 1 to 15: Pre-registrations must confirmed and paid for
- Price: The entry fee of € 390 is maintained up to July 31 for all those pre-registered by this date.
